Leadership
Wendy Prabhu
Wendy Prabhu is Mercom's President as well as one of the founders. She brings over 15 years of communications experience and a deep network of relationships with industry's top media, analysts, VCs, private equity and more. Wendy is shrewd in both strategy and tactics and she plays an active role in managing client programs, ensuring that all public relations programs are developed and executed flawlessly. She has implemented communication programs for a variety of sectors; however, she is especially passionate about the emerging clean technology and health care technology spaces, where she is credited for helping companies become relevant in congested sectors.
Wendy was previously co-founder of Oyez Communications, a public and investor relations firm which she later sold. Prior, Wendy was Director of Corporate Development for a private investment house based in Phoenix Arizona, where she was directly responsible for implementing and directing all communication programs for their portfolio companies. She was also actively involved in the structuring of several successful public offerings. Ms. Prabhu began her career in investor relations working for International Mineral Corporation. Industries where her guidance has been utilized include clean technology, medical device, health care IT, semiconductor manufacturing, oil and gas, and surveillance security.
Raj Prabhu
Raj Prabhu is the managing partner and co-founder of Mercom Capital Group. Raj brings over 13 years of management and consulting experience covering a variety of industries, including: clean energy, semiconductor, health care IT and hospitality. He has assisted clients with acquisitions, mergers, business plan development and implementation, establishing business operations in emerging markets, strategic outsourcing of non-core competencies, C-level recruiting, board selection and fundraising. Raj also served as an advisor for the Texas region of investment banking firm, Windstone Capital Partners.
Raj developed our highly popular market intelligence products, giving Mercom a unique market advantage. He is a sought after strategist with years of management and consulting experience and regularly advises clients on issues that impact their corporate strategies and overall growth. Many of Mercom clients have come to rely on his strategic counsel and direction. Raj began his career with Wyndham International, where he served on the corporate taskforce team and was responsible for the turnaround of underperforming operations. Raj attended the KLE College of Science in Bangalore, India for physics and chemistry, and holds a Bachelors Degree in Hotel and Institutional Management from Johnson and Wales University, Rhode Island.
Priyadarshini Sanjay
Priyadarshini Sanjay is the Managing Director of Mercom Communications India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mercom Capital Group. Priya brings over 13 years of experience in corporate communications, client relations and corporate management. She joined the U.S. Mercom team in March of 2008, assisting in the strategic planning, development and implementation of client campaigns and helped in the development of our market intelligence reports which are popular worldwide. While Priya has consulted with clients in a variety of sectors, she has focused on the advancement of the clean energy sector, which represents enormous challenges, particularly in the Indian marketplace. Her experience also covers information technology and healthcare sectors. Priya's passion and standard for excellence makes her a favorite with clients, and she is relentless in identifying opportunities to better our client profiles.
Priya has been instrumental in supporting Mercom's communication programs in the U.S. and globally. In her current position as Managing Director of Mercom Communications India she now oversees Mercom's India operations. Priya also brings an extensive network of relationships with both media and government leaders, which she has cultivated over the past decade.
Prior to Mercom, Priya held the position of Chief Operating Officer at SM Sanjay and Co., an investment consultancy firm in Bangalore. In her role as COO, Priya implemented and oversaw all marketing and client relations management. Priya's marketing efforts directly contributed to the company's turnaround and year-over-year growth during her tenure. Priya was also a visiting Professor at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bangalore. She received her bachelor's degree from Vidya Vardhaka College of Arts in Bangalore, India for Political Science and Economics and completed her Masters in Business Administration from Bangalore University.
